Animals Evan Fox, Nicholas Pentabona, and Brian Waldeck are cynical where it counts and tuneful when they should probably know better, resulting in what sounds like a family of raccoons trapped in a shed - if the shed were fully equipped with a disintegrating hifi, crackling amps and a library of aging post-punk and reggae singles destined for reissue.
Describing the band's style, Pentabona intends to "Hit them in the guts, then let 'em try to fight back before finishing them off. I'm not sure why I'm using a boxing analogy."
With a semi-conscious need to turn the volume up past 11, Big Dumb Animal is a three-headed beast that may be part mammal or reptile, but definitely all fight.
